What is CBD Isolate?
CBD isolate is a fine white powder containing 99% pure CBD. This pure crystalline contains only the CBD chemical compound, offering CBD in its most concentrated form.
CBD isolate is NOT synthetic or crafted in a lab and is actually an all-natural cannabinoid supplement made from hemp oil that’s been refined down to pure CBD.
CBD Isolate is removed of all of the oils, waxes, chlorophyll, and other plant material to leave behind only valuable CBD, which can then be taken directly or through various methods that we’ll talk about further below.
Getting Started / Consuming CBD Isolate:
You get to decide how potent you want your daily CBD supplement to be, and with no odour or flavour but a mild sweetness, CBD isolate can be taken by itself or integrated into a number of products.
As you’re measuring out your CBD servings, keep in mind that CBD isolate is over 99% pure.
- Each 1 gram jar CBD Isolate contains 990 mg of CBD
- Each 0.5 gram jar CBD Isolate contains 495 mg of CBD
Each milligram of the powder represents close to a milligram of active CBD.
Ideally, you’ll want to use a scale that measures small weights in milligrams so you can accurately measure your potency. If you don’t have a scale, try a small pinch with your fingers to test its potency and effects.
The power is in your hands!
Ways to Consume CBD Isolate:
- Place it Under the Tongue
The easiest, most no-fuss way to take CBD Isolate is to place a bit under the tongue and let it absorb for 60-90 seconds.
Mucous membranes in your mouth will absorb the CBD compounds and deliver them directly to your bloodstream where they can get to work by interacting with cannabinoid receptors.
- Simply Eat it
If you like the idea of creating your own edibles, you’re going to love the versatility of CBD Isolate. The powdered CBD can be easily added to your favourite foods and beverages.
With no taste or odour but a mild sweetness, you can:
- Infuse it into your morning coffee or post training smoothie
- Stir it into your Greek Yogurt
- Mix it with honey and drizzle over your favourite fruit salad, avocado toast and more
Do keep in mind that CBD has a boiling point of about 160-180°C (320-356°F). If you cook with CBD at temperatures higher than its boiling point, you’ll likely degrade the compounds and lose some potency. If you do cook using CBD isolate-infused oils, aim for lower cooking temperatures.
By doing so, the CBD Isolate has to go through your digestive system so effects may take longer depending if you are on an empty stomach or not.
- Make Your Own CBD-Infused Oils, Tincture, or Balm
CBD isolate seamlessly blends into coconut, palm, and avocado oils. Once your oil of choice has been infused with CBD, you can:- Massage the oil topically into your sore muscles
- Make a tincture or balm
If you do cook using CBD isolate-infused oils, aim for lower cooking temperatures.
- Vaping or Smoking
Vaping CBD allows the compounds to bypass your digestive tract and reach your bloodstream quicker for faster effects.
With a vaporization point of around 180-200°C (356-392°F), our CBD isolate can also be vaped or dabbed using a special water bubbler or a vape pen. Already have a favorite vape concentrate? Add a bit of CBD isolate to boost the concentrate’s CBD levels.
CBD isolate can easily be added to hemp oil supplements like tinctures to increase their base milligrams of CBD per serving.
How Long Does it Take CBD to Work?
This is not a question that a sweeping statement can answer. Along with the method of consumption, a number of factors come into play discussing how long CBD takes to work.
These factors can include dose, diet, time of last meal, body fat percentage, mood, current health status, and more.
We can generalize, however, how long each method of consumption is likely to take and how long the effects will last. Here is an approximate guide:
- Under the Tongue: 5 – 20 minutes to take effect, lasts 3 – 4 hours
- When eaten: 20 minutes – 2 hours to take effect, lasts up to 5 hours
- Via an oil or cream to the skin: An hour or more to take effect, lasts up to 5 hours
- When vaporized or smoked: Immediately takes effect, lasts 1 – 3 hours
How Is CBD Isolate Made?
Like all of the CBD supplements, the process for making CBD Isolate begins will hemp oil being extracted from non-GMO hemp plants. We use safe and non-toxic supercritical CO2 to pull the botanical, CBD-rich hemp oil from the plant. This CBD-rich concentrate includes all the cannabinoids, fatty acids, and other plant material that is naturally in hemp.
The CBD hemp oil then undergoes a proprietary purifying process to filter out the plant material and excess waxes – everything besides the pure crystalline CBD. This produces the pure isolate powder with 99% CBD.
The filtering process also removes the trace levels of THC, leaving a CBD supplement ideal for anyone looking to completely avoid exposure to the psychoactive compound.
Like all CBD products, CBD Isolate is held to the same rigorous Lab Standard. Accredited, independent labs carefully check the hemp oil three separate times throughout the manufacturing process to make sure its safety and potency standards are up to par. This guarantees you’re getting the CBD you expect and won’t be exposed to any mold, mildew, fungus, toxins, heavy metals, and residual solvents.
